Super convenient, easy going staff.
The wifi was intermittent. I was at the end of the hallway away from the router so the signal would come and go.

Budget shouldn't equal unclean - do not recommend.
The free parking is the only good thing about Hotel Trend Iwakuni.
The photos online are extremely misleading. Front the front desk, to the elevator, to the rooms, the overall impression is dimly lit, cluttered and unkept. I don't require much when traveling and am generally content with older buildings and furnishings, but the level of grime, mold & stains throughout Hotel Trend Iwakuni is unacceptable. We had two rooms. One of the bathroom toilets contained a recent bowel movement, the bathroom walls had visible black mold growth, the carpeting in both units was heavily stained, and both rooms smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (supposedly non-smoking rooms) and mold/mildew. When we checked in, we were told to leave our room keys at the front desk if/when we went out (not checked out, just going out to eat, shop, etc.), a practice I have never encountered and feel extremely uncomfortable complying with. Fortunately, our reservation was just for one night. Next trip to Iwakuni, we will stay elsewhere & you should, too.
